    St. Marys Real Estate

St. Marys is the “Gateway to the Georgia Coast“!

As the second oldest city in the continental United States, St. Mary’s is home to the Cumberland Island National Seashore. Spend a Saturday picnicking at the waterfront where you can look across the St. Mary’s River and see Amelia Island. Or pack a lunch, hop on the ferry, and go explore Cumberland Island with its wild horses and historic monuments. Own a boat? You’re in luck! Launch your boat in one of our many public boat ramps (we even have one downtown), and find yourself exploring the seas in no time.

If the water isn’t calling to you, perhaps our Crooked River State Park might do the trick! Spend the day biking, hiking, camping, or birdwatching from the park. There is even a mini golf area–because who doesn’t want to golf mid bike ride?

Speaking of golf, St. Marys is home to two wonderful golf courses! Trident Lakes Golf Club is located on the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, and is open to the public. This Par 72 course designed by Arthur Hills is a year-round course with many fun challenges. Experienced golfers may prefer The Club at Osprey Cove instead. This PGA winner, Mark McCumber, designed course, offers 18-holes with beautiful marsh and inlet views.

Perhaps history is more your speed? Explore the Cumberland Island National Seashore Museum, the St. Mary’s Submarine Museum, or take a stroll down the St. Marys History walk. You can learn about everything from the Huguenots of 1776 buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery to the founding of the shipping industry. We have so much to explore.

Free concerts, “First Friday” events, parades, festivals, gorgeous Bed + Breakfasts to stay, restaurants, quaint shops, and so much more happen in this cozy town, and we can’t wait to share the experiences with you!
